The 9 carat gold clips are 9 carat solid gold, NOT gold plated and the silver clips are 925 sterling silver. The clips are used to make your ring tighter on the finger. They can reduce the ring size between 1-4 Sizes. Please measure the band width of the ring that you would like to reduce & select the matching clip from our shop. For example if your band is 3mm then please select 3mm ring clip. Always go bigger if in doubt. e.g. if your band width measures 3.4mm choose the 4mm ring clip rather than the 3mm version, if your ring band measures 1.5mm then order the 2mm ring clip etc. Please note the mm in the drop down are the recommended RING BAND WIDTHS that the clips will fit. Always measure your ring shank using Jewellers callipers as these are the most accurate way. You need to measure the part of the band on the bottom of the ring. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE CORRECTLY, as if the ring clip purchased is too small for the ring, it will cause pressure on the clip, and weaken the metal of the clip. Also when attaching the clip to the ring, do not over work the clip, as this will also weaken the metal. PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE CLIPS ARE ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX, EVENTUALLY THEY WILL NEED REPLACING. FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Position your chosen ring clip on the inside bottom of your ring. Make sure that the two attaching tabs are pointing down towards the bottom of your ring. These tabs will be wrapping around your ring shank. 2. Push the ring clip down against the inside of your ring with your finger to make it curve in the same shape as your ring. As you push you will see that the two tabs will protrude outside your ring around the bottom of it. 3. Now whilst holding the ring guard in place with your finger and thumb, carefully use some pliers or tweezers to wrap the tabs around the bottom of your ring. Wrap the tabs around the ring as much as possible, to ensure a secure fit. Tighten the tabs with the pliers as much as you can to make them flush with the ring. To adjust the ring size, pull up on the centre of the ring clip to make your ring smaller or alternatively push down on the centre of the ring clip to make your ring bigger. DO NOT USE YOUR FINGERS TO BEND THEM, AS THIS CAN DAMAGE THE CLIP. Also do not work the lugs too much, as this will weaken them.
