Pre-cut Pine Wood Derby Car Pine Wood derby car body rough cut using a CNC router for precision and detail. Rough cut means the surface will not be smooth due to the tool marks and will need to be sanded before painting. These designs are intended to help with the initial start of an entry by providing a quality pre-cut body, thus reducing the time required and the need to have or use power tools. There is still much work to complete the racer and many opportunities to add your own creative touches and finishes. There are no holes nor slots for axles as many prefer custom setups and choose to do this themselves. I now offer to drill standard holes for the nail/pin axles if this option is requested. All you need to do is sand to a smooth finish, add any desired accessories, paint, and add any stickers or decals. Lastly, install your wheels and weights. • Meets official BSA specifications (Maximum width 2-3/4 inches, length 7 inches). • Body only--wheels and axles not included. • Weight- This body weighs 1.3 ounces on my scale so plan to add additional weights. It is best to be a little under the maximum limit and add additional weight on race day using the official scales. Please Note: The Pine Wood Derby body shown in the listing is a representation and may not be the exact article you receive due to variations in wood and manufacturing. All bodies are likely to have noticeable imperfections such as minor chips and/or require minor repairs that vary on each body produced. Photos 3 and 4 show a sample finished body.
