They are designed to not craze in poured applications, which creates even poured puddles and acrylic sheets. Mix with Soft Body Colour to promote drying with a smooth, even-coloured film.
Liquitex Mediums offers a variety of specialty products, including Fluid Mediums, Gel mediums, Texture Gels and Additives specifically designed to achieve various techniques, applications and special effects.
Liquitex Pouring Effects Painting Medium creates even “puddles,” poured sheets and flowing applications of colour. Does not craze, crack, or hold bubbles in the paint film upon drying. Retains high gloss and wet appearance when dry. It will not add transparency when mixed with colour. Formulated for maximum flexibility and adhesion, it will not chip or crack on canvas.
It can be applied to any material or surface that will accept traditional acrylic media, such as canvas, paper, wood, etc. Liquitex Texture Gels are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing surface.
APPLICATION: Mix with Liquitex Soft Body Acrylic Colour to promote drying with a smooth, evenly coloured film. Mix one tablespoon or more paint with one cup of Liquitex Pouring Medium in a large bucket or bowl. Mix the colour and the pouring medium by hand with a palette knife. To prevent bubbles, blend gently and allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes following agitation. Using a funnel, pour the mixture into a squeeze bottle or applicator of choice.
The mixture can be poured directly on the canvas, board supports, glass, or paper. Use on a level surface. If not level, results may be uneven, with very thin pieces that may tear. Pour evenly over the surface and allow at least one day to dry. If the paint film is thicker, allow up to two days.
They produce smooth matte craze-free pours while lowering viscosity and increasing flexibility. The Iridescent Pouring Medium Set contains one 237ml iridescent Pouring Medium and one each 59ml Soft Body in phthalocyanine blue green shade yellow medium azo and naphthol crimson.
