Grab this Slouchy Hat Knitting Pattern. Super easy beginner level. Knit with bulky yarn, so it knit's up quickly! Great beginner knitting pattern! I was trying to decide what hat I'd like to make this month and I've been trying to branch out and use different yarns, so I decided to create a pattern similar to my most popular hat knitting pattern, the Wisdom slouchy hat, which is knit with a super bulky yarn. So, I decided to create this hat using a bulky yarn instead of a super bulky and I'm super happy with the results. For starters, this yarn is the softest and warmest evah! I'm all about instant gratification projects, hence why I always knit with super bulky yarn. However even though this took a little longer to knit, I absolutely love it! So, I'm trying to embrace patience when knitting a project and enjoying the process and trying not to think about what I'm going to knit next. ;)} Anyone with me on this?! Let's get on to knitting this thing. :) About: Available Sizes: One Size: 20 - 22 {51 - 56cm} Head Circumference Style: One, Slouchy Pattern Format: Written Pattern, No Chart Pattern Language: English Skill Level: Beginner PDF Format: Printer Friendly PDF Bonus: Ad-Free Video Techniques: Knit in the Round Knit & Purl Stitches Decrease Stitch Materials: Yarn Weight: Bulky Yardage: 120 - 130 yards {110 - 119 meters} Suggested Yarn: Morehouse Farms, Bulky Needle Size: US 10.5 {6.5mm} Circular Needles with a 16” {40cm}, or DPNs Needle Size: US 11 {8mm} Circular Needles with a 16” {40cm} & 24”+ {60cm} Cable, or DPNs Extras: Stitch Markers Details: Measurements: 10″ Wide x 13 1/2″ {25cm x 34cm} Gauge: 12 STS & 18 rounds per 4” {10cm} square, knit in the pattern below Weight: 4.1oz {116g} Notes: Not reversible. Knit bottom up. Knit using the rib & stockinette stitch. Knit in the round with a circular needle. When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work. Pattern, Knit in the Round: Using US 10.5 {6.5mm} circular needles with a 16” {40cm} cable. CO 64 STS, PM, join in the round. Rounds 1-21: *K2, P2* approx. 5” {13cm} from the beginning Switch to size US 11 needles: Rounds 22-52: *K* approx. 7 1/2” {19cm} from the beginning Note {Optional}: When the stitches get too tight switch to a longer cable and knit using the magic loop method. Decrease for the crown: Round 53: *K6, K2TOG, PM* Round 54: *K5, K2TOG, SM* Round 55: *K4, K2TOG, SM* Round 56: *K3, K2TOG, SM* Round 57: *K2, K2TOG, SM* Round 58: *K1, K2TOG, SM* Round 59: *K2TOG, remove stitch marker* End: Without binding-off, cut the yarn leaving a 10” {25cm} tail, pull it through the remaining STS, push through the top hole to the inside and then weave in the ends. Block: To block this hat I use a saucer. Like a teacup and saucer. ;) I put it inside the hat, so the bottom “swirl” is in the center of the saucer and the saucer is bulging outward, spritz it with some water, pat dry with a clean towel and let it dry overnight.
